It's been a minute since I last posted about a zine!
Today's edition is a super special one as it reached it's owner at a perfect time. The zine theme was Kindness and was gifted to Molly. I love to think there's a bit of fate in the world and because of this, Molly's zine got to her right when she needed it. There is something so special about sending personalised art half way round the world, just to cheer somebody up. I think that's why we have been "zining" people continuously since 2015!

If you are new to The Zine Squad, our concept is this; 3x core artists work with 1x or more guest artists to create a hand made zine, specifically for an individual in the Get Messy Art Journal community. The zine goes from artist to artist, each person adding their own touches and unique style until it is finished. It then arrives with it's recipient who is (hopefully) happily surprised as we keep the whole process a secret!

The words were already on the right hand page and I collaged either side around them. I used images that promoted self love, care, solitude (the good kind) and introspection. These are things I think of when considering "kindness", especially to yourself.
I had made this nourish to flourish piece a while ago and it seemed perfect for the zine! The right hand side is more kindess and wellbeing imagery from my ephemera stash.
Hearts for reminder that self love really is a radical act of self care and kindness! I hope that the tone of this zine really is a taste of things that are on their way to Molly.
